Default Ele survivor armor?

I'm going for the legendary survivor title with my elementalist. He currently has over 250k experience but ever since I created him I have been wondering what armor I should give him. I currently use /W and have a shield equipped that gives me +16 armor... monsters rarely attack me. Any advice on what armor to choose? Lightning damage seems to be the biggest single hitting source... including ritualist bosses. On the other hand the life one would also be a good choice.

What do you suggest?

Personally, I'd go for the armor appropraitely named "Survivor." ^^ So the +health armor. Since you've already got a shield, you might want to mod it so that it has the "+45 health while enchanted" handle and a "-2 damage while enchanted" inscription. You'll usually have an attunement of some sort on you anyway, so odds are you'll be enchanted. Don't use superior runes, and if you can avoid it, skip the major ones as well. Naturally this excludes the vigor runes. ^^ As for taking secondary as warrior to fulfill the req of the shield, that is perhaps a bit unnecessary. If you have points to spare anyway, then by all means, but a good staff with +60 health should do the trick too. Ele's are meant to stay in the back anyway, which should give you enough time to flee if it seems you are getting too much aggro. And perhaps taking a hero monk you can control is a good idea too with prot spirit so that you can keep that up on you at all times, in which case armor will hardly matter anyway. Good luck with the title! I found it was easy to get.

The +16 armor from the shield is nice, but for my ele survivor i tend to use earth magic for defense and air magic for offense. I would say the +10 armor while enchanted since I tend to use armor enchantments(kinetic and stonflesh) it adds that much more. Havent used it in a while though so they may have nerfed those skills over the past month or so. For a weapon i use an insightful staff of defense with a hale and hearty insc.

Never use +45 while enchanted... you don't want to lose an extra 45 health when you lose your enchantments.

I'd probably take Prismatic and use at least two attributes, maybe one for damage and 9-11 Earth for Wards.

im using the +health one on my survivor warrior, and its going well.

u get half the armour of a shield if u dont meet req

sooo

60+8 +5 (spear) =73al and 1 absorbtion

healthwise, 480 +41 + 30(shield) + 20(runes of vitea) =591 health

Either +health or +armor while enchanted IMO. Prismatic pigeonholes your builds a bit too much for my tastes. Oh, and for the shield, even if you don't meet the req you still get +8 armor from it. The extra att. points might help you survive better than the extra 8 AL.

Ever since I got exuros will I stopped getting attacked (in normal mode, haven't tried hard with ele yet).

Full tempest/blessed +10al while enchanted and the +60health always from exuro + vitae runes and sup vig makes for a very durable (actually, read: someone monsters won't bother focusing on) Elementalist.

Staying in the back and not crossing monsters' paths helps a lot too though -.-
